Sydney Sweeney wants one deleted ‘Euphoria’ scene released, and fans may want to start asking HBO nicely.
The Emmy-nominated actress revealed that a major Cassie moment from the show’s final season never made it to air. In a new Vanity Fair interview, Sweeney said she spent weeks preparing for a scene that would have sent Cassie into full chaos mode.
The setup? Cassie and Maddy, played by Alexa Demie, end up at a strip club. Then Cassie decides she can keep up with the professionals.
Sydney Sweeney Wants Deleted Scene Released
Sweeney said the deleted sequence showed Cassie impulsively taking the stage and trying to pole dance.
For anyone who watched Cassie spiral across ‘Euphoria,’ that visual probably tracks. Big confidence. Terrible timing. Maximum drama.
Sweeney said she trained for the scene and took pole-dancing lessons before filming it.
“It was a blast,” she said.
She also joked that seeing “wild Cassie” on a pole would have been “absolutely hilarious.”
Sweeney Gained Respect For Pole Dancers
The actress said the training gave her a new appreciation for how demanding the skill really is.
“Wow, these women are incredibly strong,” Sweeney said.
Despite all that preparation, creator Sam Levinson ultimately cut the scene because it did not fit the final story.
Sweeney said she understood the decision, even if she was a little disappointed. Still, she sounded excited when Levinson suggested the footage could eventually be released as a deleted scene or bonus clip.
Saying Goodbye To Cassie Was Emotional
Sweeney also reflected on how difficult it was to leave Cassie behind.
She has played the character since ‘Euphoria’ premiered in 2019, and each season carried the feeling that it could be the last. That made every goodbye feel heavier.
Cassie also pushed Sweeney as an actress.
“She’s an incredibly demanding role,” Sweeney said.
The actress said the character forced her into emotional places that few other roles could reach.
Now, with the series over, Sweeney seems ready to let fans see one more wild Cassie moment. And honestly, a deleted pole-dancing scene sounds exactly like the kind of chaos ‘Euphoria’ fans would stream immediately.
