George Clooney has picked his choice for the next James Bond.
The Hollywood star says Callum Turner would be a strong fit for the iconic spy role, which has remained open since Daniel Craig ended his run as 007 in ‘No Time To Die’ in 2021.
Turner, who starred with Clooney in the 2023 film ‘The Boys In The Boat,’ has already been part of the wider Bond conversation. Now Clooney is making it clear he thinks the British actor has the right look, charm, and screen presence to take over.
“I hope Callum ends up being the next Bond,” Clooney told The Hollywood Reporter. “I think he would be a great Bond. He’s tall and handsome and charming and British, so he’s the perfect guy to do it.”
Clooney Says Turner Has Real Star Power
Clooney did not stop with the obvious Bond qualities.
He also praised Turner’s career choices, saying the actor has not simply chased easy commercial roles. “He hasn’t just gone for the easy paychecks,” Clooney said. “He’s done really interesting work.”
The actor added that Turner has managed to stand out in a crowded industry where finding a true leading man has become harder.
“Somehow Callum has weaved his way through all of the noise and found a place where people look at him and go, ‘There’s something with this young man,’” Clooney said. “It’s exciting to watch people saying, ‘That guy, that’s a guy I want to follow and pay attention to.’”
For Clooney, that quality matters more than a checklist. “I can’t explain it, but I know it when I see it,” he said of star power.

Callum Turner Is Staying Quiet On Bond Rumors
Turner, who recently married Dua Lipa, has not confirmed any serious movement around the Bond role.
Asked about the speculation, he refused to say whether he would take the part if offered. Still, he admitted the rumors have followed him into his personal life.
“I’ll tell you what’s so funny about the Bond thing: Even your best friends ask you, people text you that you haven’t spoken to for 10 years, and you know nothing,” Turner said. That has not stopped his name from staying in the mix.
Bookmakers have also placed Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Harris Dickinson, and Jacob Elordi among the leading contenders. Turner’s name, however, now has a major Hollywood endorsement behind it.
The Next Bond Race Is Getting Crowded
Turner is not the only British actor being discussed.
‘Vikings: Valhalla’ star Leo Suter has also been floated as a possible contender. Earlier this year, Suter hinted that conversations around Bond may have happened. “I think it might be somewhere in there, yeah, and I wouldn’t say no,” he told The Times in January.
The speculation comes as the next Bond era begins to take shape. Denis Villeneuve, known for ‘Dune’ and ‘Blade Runner 2049,’ is attached to direct the next chapter. ‘Peaky Blinders’ creator Steven Knight has been brought in to write the screenplay.
No new Bond actor has been officially announced. Still, industry chatter has pointed toward a possible origin-style approach, following a younger version of Bond early in his MI6 career. That would line up with the direction of the upcoming video game ‘007 First Light,’ which also reimagines Bond in his early spy days.
For now, the official answer remains unknown. But Clooney has made his pick clear. If the Bond team wants a tall, charming, British leading man, he thinks Callum Turner is the one.
