Jennifer Lopez may be moving forward after Ben Affleck, and according to insiders, Affleck is not exactly standing in the way.
The latest claims around Lopez and her ‘Office Romance’ co-star Brett Goldstein have pulled Affleck back into the conversation, even though his marriage to Lopez is already over. Reports suggest Affleck privately wants Lopez to be happy and may even support the idea of her finding someone new.
That does not mean the rumors are confirmed. Lopez and Goldstein have not publicly said they are dating. Still, the timing has made the story hard to ignore.
Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck on August 20, 2024, and the split was finalized in January 2025. The end of their second chance at love came after a heavily watched reunion, marriage, and months of speculation over what went wrong.

According to insiders, Affleck sees Lopez’s possible new chapter as a way for both of them to move forward.
“It’s no secret that Ben is trying to wash his hands of Jen,” one source claimed. “There’s a reason he gave her his half of their house. In his view, the faster she can find happiness with someone else, the better.” The source added that Affleck does not want Lopez unhappy. “And he genuinely does want to see her happy,” the insider said.
Affleck reportedly does not know Goldstein personally, but the source claimed he has friends who do. “He has some friends who know Brett, and they’ve had nothing but good things to say,” the insider added. “That’s enough for Ben to root for him because he knows Jen is happier when she has a partner.”
Lopez And Goldstein’s Chemistry Is Fueling Talk
The speculation around Lopez and Goldstein has grown as they promote ‘Office Romance,’ which is heading to Netflix on June 5.
Lopez has already spoken warmly about working with the ‘Ted Lasso’ star. “We had great chemistry to begin with,” Lopez said. “It just grew as we did the film together.” She also described Goldstein as “kind, gentle but also very smart” and “so charming.”
That kind of praise can be normal movie promotion. With Lopez, though, every public compliment gets read twice. Her romantic history is too public, and her split from Affleck is still fresh enough for fans to connect every dot.
