Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith are back in the same public frame, and that was enough to get people talking.
The couple made their first public appearance together in months on Tuesday during a family dinner at Nobu Malibu. The outing lasted around four hours and included several members of the Smith family, making it more than a quick celebrity restaurant sighting.
Will and Jada were joined by their son Jaden Smith, as well as Will’s son Trey, whom he shares with his first wife, Sheree Zampino. Will’s mother, Caroline Bright, was also there for the dinner.
Will And Jada Arrived Separately But Left Together
The Nobu appearance immediately drew attention because Will and Jada have spent years at the center of questions about their marriage.
According to photos, the two arrived at the restaurant separately. By the end of the night, however, they left together in a black Land Rover.
Jada wore a long black jacket with Louis Vuitton jeans and a black top. She finished the look with a black head wrap and sandals. Will kept his outfit much more relaxed. The ‘Men in Black’ star wore gray sweatpants, a white T-shirt, and Nike sneakers. He also carried a red bomber jacket.
Their last public outing together was reportedly in February, when they also dined at Nobu Malibu with Jaden and their daughter, Willow Smith.
The Family Outing Comes After Years Of Marriage Questions
Before that February appearance, Will and Jada stepped out in January at Men’s Fall/Winter 2026 Paris Fashion Week to support Jaden.
The 27-year-old attended the event after becoming Christian Louboutin’s first men’s creative director.
Still, every joint appearance from Will and Jada gets more attention because of what they have publicly shared about their relationship.
The couple, who married in 1997, made headlines in 2020 after singer August Alsina claimed he had a relationship with Jada and said Will had given his “blessing.” The couple’s representative initially called the claim “absolutely untrue.”
Jada later described the relationship as an “entanglement” during an episode of ‘Red Table Talk.’ She and Will also said they had been separated at the time.
Jada Previously Revealed A Secret Separation
In 2021, Will spoke about their marriage and said they had not followed a traditional model. He said they did not want their union to feel like “a prison.”
Then, in 2023, Jada revealed that she and Will had been secretly separated for seven years. “We’re still figuring it out,” the ‘Girls Trip’ actress said at the time. “We’ve been doing some really heavy-duty work together. We just got deep love for each other, and we are going to figure out what that looks like for us.” That comment still follows them.
Now, their four-hour family dinner at Nobu has pushed their relationship status back into the public conversation. It may have been a simple family night. With Will and Jada, though, a quiet dinner rarely stays quiet for long.
