Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow may still have unfinished business with ‘Friends.’
The actresses, who played Rachel Green and Phoebe Buffay across the NBC sitcom’s 10-season run, recently revisited an idea that fans would almost certainly devour: a ‘Friends’ rewatch project.
The moment came during the June 3 season premiere of Variety’s ‘Actors on Actors’ series. Kudrow brought it up first, and Aniston immediately remembered the plan.
Jennifer Aniston And Lisa Kudrow Revisit Podcast Idea
“Remember, we were gonna do a rewatch podcast thing?” Kudrow asked Aniston.
“Oh yeah, remember?” Aniston replied. “We were gonna do that!”
Kudrow then clarified that the idea was not exactly a podcast. It was more of a “thing,” which somehow makes it sound even more like something ‘Friends’ fans would chase down instantly.
Aniston still seemed intrigued by the concept.
“That was a great idea,” she said. “Wonder what happened to it?”
Kudrow did not have a firm answer, but she seemed confident that audiences would be open to almost anything tied to the show. And honestly, she is probably right. More than 20 years after the 2004 finale, ‘Friends’ still refuses to fade into sitcom history.
‘Friends’ Still Has A Massive Fanbase
The beloved series followed six friends navigating love, work and chaos in New York City. Alongside Aniston and Kudrow, the cast included Courteney Cox as Monica, Matt LeBlanc as Joey, David Schwimmer as Ross and the late Matthew Perry as Chandler.
Perry died in October 2023 at age 54, but the surviving cast members have continued to speak warmly about their bond.
The show remains everywhere. Reruns still air constantly, and the series is available on HBO Max. Fans can buy official merchandise, from logo-covered slow cookers to character cutouts. There is even a ‘Friends’ Experience in Las Vegas for viewers who want to step inside the sitcom world.

Lisa Kudrow Has Already Started Rewatching
In June 2024, Kudrow said she had begun rewatching ‘Friends’ as a way to remember Perry.
During a March appearance on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live,’ she gave fans a taste of what a rewatch project might sound like. Kudrow recalled texting LeBlanc after watching a scene from the season 8 episode ‘The One in Massapequa,’ featuring guest star Alec Baldwin.
She remembered Joey complaining about a party and saying he nearly slipped on a giant “booger” near the buffet line. The joke, of course, was that Joey had mistaken an oyster Phoebe had tossed on the floor.
“I was in tears, laughing so hard,” Kudrow said. “Literal tears.”
LeBlanc’s response was perfectly simple.
“Yeah, we had some laughs on that show,” he wrote.
That may be exactly why a rewatch project would work. The jokes are still there. The memories are still sharp. And for fans, hearing Aniston and Kudrow relive those moments might feel like one more coffee at Central Perk.
