Denise Richards is not letting her divorce court wardrobe become another reason for people to come at her.

The actress and reality TV personality recently addressed the chatter around her courtroom fashion after wearing a fitted Gucci leather pencil skirt during proceedings tied to her divorce from Aaron Phypers. Richards shared her side in a ‘GRWM’ video on Instagram, giving fans a look at her early-morning routine before another court appearance. She made one thing clear. If the cameras are going to be there, she is not showing up looking careless.

Denise Richards Says Court Fashion Became Stressful

Richards joked about getting ready before sunrise, then explained why her court outfits have become a bigger issue than expected.

According to Richards, media attention around the case has made her more aware of what she wears. She said her estranged husband makes sure the press are present in court, which has turned every appearance into something people judge.

That includes the leather skirt. Richards defended the Gucci piece, saying it was not strange or intimidating to her. She also said she does not own many formal suits, which makes courtroom dressing harder.

For the appearance, Richards paired the black leather pencil skirt with a fitted long-sleeved black bodysuit. The skirt featured Gucci’s signature horsebit detailing, keeping the look sharp without turning it into a full legal-drama costume.

Fans Backed Her Courtroom Look

Richards’ followers were quick to defend her in the comments.

“You just show up. You are a blessing in this world. You are the most reliable, real deal. Love you to the moon and back,” one fan wrote. Another praised her looks while wishing her luck through the divorce process. “You could wear a garbage bag and still look stunning. Good luck, Bella,” the fan commented.

The support fit a long-running pattern for Richards. Her fashion choices often draw debate, but she rarely appears interested in dressing for approval.

Her Wedding Look Also Sparked Talk

This is not the first time Richards has defended an unconventional fashion choice tied to Phypers. When she married him in 2018, Richards skipped the traditional wedding dress and wore a lace romper with a detachable tulle skirt. The look immediately got attention, especially because she removed the skirt during a motorcycle ride with Phypers.

Richards later said the choice was intentional. She had already worn a traditional dress for her first wedding and wanted something more personal the second time. Designer Mark Zunino also defended the look, saying the point was to create something Richards genuinely loved, not something made for outside approval.

Richards Has Been Open About Recent Changes

The actress has also faced recent attention over her appearance after revealing she had a full facelift eight months earlier. Richards said she had planned to keep it private until Phypers allegedly made the procedure public.

She also previously opened up about a painful set injury while filming ‘Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test,’ saying one of her implants ruptured during the competition. Richards later had corrective surgery and thanked the people who helped her through recovery.

Now, between court appearances, fashion criticism, and public scrutiny, Richards seems to be choosing the same approach she has used before.
