Kim Kardashian and North West just turned a mother-daughter selfie into a very expensive style moment.
The reality star shared a new Instagram photo of herself and her 12-year-old daughter wearing matching diamond grills. The pair posed with their mouths open to show off the custom dental accessories, giving fans a close look at the sparkling pieces.
Kim kept the rest of her look sleek with slicked-back dark hair and oversized black sunglasses. North, meanwhile, leaned into her usual bold style with a vibrant blue wig and studded nails. Kim simply captioned the post, “Lately.”
Kim And North Show Off Matching Diamond Grills
The grills quickly drew attention because of their extreme price tag.
North’s custom diamond-encrusted shark grills were reportedly designed by celebrity jeweler Johnny Dang and are estimated to be worth around $170,000.
Kim’s set is also believed to be highly expensive, and if it falls in a similar range, the mother-daughter pair’s matching grills could be worth close to $400,000 combined.
That number is hard to ignore.
According to Yahoo Finance, the average price of a three-bedroom home in the U.S. is roughly $325,000 to $430,000, depending on location. In other words, Kim and North may have worn the cost of an American family home in their mouths for one selfie.
North West’s Style Keeps Getting Bolder
North has increasingly become a style figure in her own right.
The 12-year-old is known for experimenting with electric blue hair, dramatic lashes, faux face tattoos, piercings, colored contact lenses, and custom grills.
Her style has clearly moved far beyond standard celebrity-kid fashion. It is bold, expensive, and designed to get attention.
Kim has spoken before about North having strong opinions about clothes. At Vogue’s Forces of Fashion conference, she described North as “very opinionated” about what she wears, especially when Kim wears too much black.
In an Interview Magazine conversation, North was asked what she wanted to be when she grew up.
“I don’t know, because I already do a lot of stuff that I want to be when I grow up,” she said. “I just want to pursue my career now.”
North Is Already Building Her Own Image
North has also started pushing into music and visuals.
In May, she released a new track, ‘#N0rth4evr’, along with a music video that leaned into a darker, cinematic look. The song touches on growing up under public scrutiny. “Forever and always, I don’t listen, but they talk about me all day,” she sings. The track serves as the lead single for her debut EP, also titled ‘#N0rth4evr’, released on May 1.
North also appeared in FKA Twigs’ ‘Childlike Things’ music video last year, wearing a white furry hoodie, matching shorts, jewel-encrusted glasses, and a chunky silver necklace.
Now, with matching diamond grills alongside Kim, North is once again showing that her image is not being built quietly.
For most families, $400,000 would mean a house. For Kim and North, it became a matching style statement.
