Helen Mirren appears to be sending a very clear message amid the growing Tom Hardy ‘MobLand’ controversy.

The Oscar-winning actress posted a photo of Hardy on Instagram Thursday, adding text over his face that read, “Love you now and always helen.”

The brief post arrived after days of reports about alleged tension behind the scenes of the Paramount+ crime drama, where Hardy plays a fixer for a London crime family led by Mirren’s character.

It also came after a new report claimed Hardy has not actually been fired from the show.

Mirren Shares Support For Hardy

The latest drama began after reports claimed Hardy had been removed from ‘MobLand’ following completion of season two, which has not yet premiered on Paramount+.

One source close to production previously claimed Hardy “refused to come out of his trailer for hours at a time,” allegedly leaving castmates waiting on set.

That report fueled speculation about friction involving Mirren and other major names attached to the series.

But Mirren’s Instagram post seemed to push back against the idea that she has turned against Hardy.

A separate report later claimed Hardy “was not fired” and that “the door is not closed for season 3,” with creative talks still ongoing.

Source Claims Mirren Was Frustrated, Not Anti-Tom

The same report addressed the rumors of tension between Mirren and Hardy.

One source claimed Hardy’s alleged lateness had been “frustrating” for Mirren, but insisted there was no major personal feud between the two stars.

“I know she’s said to him a couple of times, ‘Come on, Tom, we’ve been here for ages, let’s get on with it,’ but she’s never appeared to be anti-Tom,” the source said.

Another production source also dismissed the idea that Mirren would turn the situation into a larger power struggle.

“Helen is not that sort of person,” the source claimed.

The insider added that if Mirren had a problem, she would likely say it directly to Hardy rather than get involved in a behind-the-scenes political fight.

Mirren Previously Defended Hardy Too

This is not the first time Mirren has publicly supported Hardy amid reports of set tension.

After previous claims surfaced in December that she was upset over Hardy’s lateness, Mirren shared another affectionate Instagram post about him.

“Things I love,” she wrote at the time, before praising “Tom Hardy for his brilliance on screen,” his “dedication off screen,” and his “good heart.”

She also mentioned loving the “HardyHugs” she gets on set.

In the same post, Mirren listed “bad journalism” under things she hates, which many took as a pointed response to the reports.

For now, Hardy’s ‘MobLand’ future remains unclear. But Mirren’s latest post makes one thing obvious: if there is tension behind the scenes, she is not feeding it publicly.
