Marjorie Taylor Greene has turned her fire on Donald Trump, accusing him of targeting Republicans who pushed to release the Epstein files.
In a lengthy post on X, Greene claimed she and three other GOP lawmakers faced Trump’s anger after signing a discharge petition to force a vote on releasing documents connected to Jeffrey Epstein.
According to Greene, only four Republicans were willing to sign the petition: Thomas Massie, Nancy Mace, Lauren Boebert, and herself.
“Trump has come after us one by one ever since then,” Greene wrote.
Greene Claims Trump Targeted Epstein Files Republicans
Greene alleged that Trump did not want the vote to happen and claimed he pressured House Speaker Mike Johnson to stop it.
“The President told Speaker Johnson not to allow the vote to happen,” she claimed.
Greene said the four Republicans “refused to budge” and eventually forced the issue onto the House floor. She also argued that other GOP lawmakers only found the courage to support the move once they had to vote publicly.
The post marked a sharp escalation in Greene’s split from Trump and the Republican Party.
Greene Accuses Trump Of A ‘Reign Of Terror’
Greene went further by accusing Trump of controlling Republicans through fear.
“Until then, they were absurdly obedient to the President who was doing everything in his reign of terror to hold them back,” she wrote.
She also claimed that even after the Epstein Files Transparency Act, “all the files are still not released” and what she called the “Epstein class” remains protected.
“Wars are being waged, the markets are being manipulated, and the average American is being driven further into ruin while the Epstein class reigns and has yet to face any accountability,” Greene added.
Her post ended with a direct break from both Trump and the GOP.
“I will never regret signing that discharge petition, refusing to back down, and resigning as I want nothing to do with a President and a Party that bows to the Epstein class,” she wrote.
Greene Claims Trump Blocked Epstein File Release
The post followed earlier claims Greene made during an appearance on ‘The Shannon Joy Show’.
During that interview, Greene alleged that Trump personally told former Attorney General Pam Bondi not to release Epstein-related documents.
“He flat out told her, ‘Do not release the Epstein files,’” Greene claimed.
She also alleged Trump warned Republicans that releasing the files could hurt people close to him.
“His reasoning was… people are going to get hurt,” Greene said. “He kept saying that.”
Trump has not publicly responded to Greene’s latest accusations in the provided draft. For now, her comments add another layer to the growing feud between Trump and one of his former loyalists, with the Epstein files now at the center of the fight.
