Spencer Pratt’s run for Los Angeles mayor just got a Trump-sized twist.

The former ‘Hills’ star, 42, responded after a report claimed President Donald Trump has “discussed” the idea of endorsing him in the race. Pratt has not confirmed any Trump endorsement, but the chatter was enough to set off one of his opponents.

On Saturday, May 16, Los Angeles City Councilmember Nithya Raman posted on X that Trump was “about to endorse Spencer” and urged supporters to help her campaign raise money before the fundraising deadline.

“Tonight is the fundraising deadline, and we need to raise more to prove that LA doesn’t want a MAGA Republican mayor who lives in the Bel Air hotel,” Raman wrote. Pratt fired back without saying much. He quoted the post and added a GIF of himself rolling his eyes.

Spencer Pratt Responds To Trump Endorsement Talk

Pratt also denied the claim that he lives at the Hotel Bel-Air.

The reality TV personality said he considers a trailer his “temporary” home after losing his house in the Palisades Fire.

The next day, Pratt posted a photo of the front page of The California Post with a headline about Los Angeles moms rallying around him over crime concerns.

“I have the only endorsement i need,” Pratt wrote. “Moms and animal lovers who want to feel safe.”

That line fits the campaign image Pratt has been building: less polished politician, more angry local resident who says he is tired of waiting for leadership to fix the city.

Trump Reportedly Likes The Celebrity Candidate Angle

The Trump chatter reportedly came from journalist Rob Shuter’s ‘Naughty But Nice’ Substack.

“Trump loves celebrity candidates, and Spencer knows exactly how to dominate headlines,” one Republican insider claimed. “The idea of endorsing him has absolutely been discussed.”

Pratt has insisted he is not running as a party figure.

“I represent all of Los Angeles,” he said in a recent interview. “I do not represent a party. I don’t have a campaign manager. I don’t have campaign consultants. There’s no political party backing me.”

He described himself as an angry Angeleno running to make Los Angeles the “No. 1 seat.”

Palisades Fire Fueled His Campaign

Pratt announced his mayoral run while marking the one-year anniversary of the Palisades Fire, which destroyed his home.

He has been sharply critical of California Gov. Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, accusing leaders of failing residents after the disaster.

“I’m done waiting for someone to take real action,” Pratt said during his speech at the ‘They Let Us Burn!’ protest.

The Los Angeles mayoral election is set for June 2.

For now, Trump has not publicly endorsed Pratt. Still, the possibility alone has already changed the tone of the race. One report, one opponent’s warning, and one eye-roll GIF were enough to turn Pratt’s campaign into a much bigger political spectacle.
