Donald Trump’s hair had a rough moment before his latest foreign trip, and the internet did not miss it.

The 79-year-old president was photographed on Tuesday, May 12, before boarding Air Force One for China. As he walked across the White House lawn to speak with reporters, a gust of wind pushed his hair around and gave cameras an unusually clear look at his scalp.

The photos quickly drew attention online, with critics joking about “Hair Force One” and pointing to the windblown moment as another awkward visual for the oldest president ever inaugurated.

Still, Trump had bigger problems than the wind. His exchange with reporters turned tense fast.

Trump Snaps Over Ballroom Question

Trump defended his planned White House ballroom renovation, insisting the project remains on track and under budget.

“We have a ballroom that’s under budget,” Trump said. “I’ve doubled the size of it because we obviously need that. And we’re right now on budget, under budget, and ahead of schedule.”

When a reporter pressed him on the size of the project, Trump lashed out. “I doubled the size of it, you dumb person,” he said. “You are not a smart person.”

The cost of the ballroom has already drawn scrutiny. Trump originally said the project would cost $200 million and be funded by wealthy donors. The figure has since reportedly climbed to $400 million.

This was not the first time Trump became irritated over questions about the ballroom. Earlier this year, he criticized CNN White House correspondent Kaitlan Collins after she asked about the price tag, calling her the “worst reporter.”

Trump Says He Does Not Think About Americans’ Finances

Trump also drew backlash after being asked whether Americans’ financial situations were motivating him to reach a deal involving Iran.

“Not even a little bit,” Trump said. He then explained that his only priority in the matter is preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. “I don’t think about Americans’ financial situation,” he said. “I don’t think about anybody. I think about one thing: we cannot let Iran have a nuclear weapon.”

Trump added that he believes “every American understands” that position. He also claimed that once the war ends, oil prices will drop and the stock market will rise, repeating his belief that the country is entering a “golden age.”

Critics Pounce On Trump’s Remark

The “I don’t think about anybody” line spread quickly online.

One critic wrote that Trump “finally said it out loud on camera,” claiming he only cares about people who can help him and his family.

Another argued that Trump had never thought about ordinary people, while a third joked, “The first time he’s actually told the truth.”

Between the windblown photos, the ballroom fight, and the blunt comment about Americans’ finances, Trump’s China departure became more than a routine White House lawn appearance.
