Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein are already selling the chemistry.
The pair stepped out together at the 2026 Netflix Upfront Presentation at Sunset Pier 94 Studios, where they promoted their upcoming romantic comedy, ‘Office Romance’. They posed together on the red carpet, smiled through the cameras, and later presented exclusive footage from the film as part of Netflix’s “Get Closer” theme.
The movie does not hit Netflix until June 5, 2026, but the promo machine is already working. Lopez’s comments about Goldstein only added more fuel.
Jennifer Lopez Praises Brett Goldstein’s Softer Side
Lopez said she expected Goldstein to be much closer to his gruff ‘Ted Lasso’ character, Roy Kent.
“I expected more of a rough guy,” Lopez said. “But you get this kind, gentle but also very smart person that is so charming.”
She also admitted she was already a fan of his work. “I thought he was going to be more like the character,” she said, “but he was so soft-spoken and sweet.”
That is exactly the kind of praise that gets romance fans paying attention. The two are starring in a workplace love story, and Lopez is publicly describing him as kind, gentle, smart, charming, soft-spoken, and sweet. Subtle? Not exactly.

Goldstein Wrote The Role With Lopez In Mind
Goldstein, who also co-wrote the film, said the connection was built into the project from the start.
He revealed that the role was written with Lopez in mind and said the movie would not exist without her. That gives the pairing a little more weight than a random casting choice.
In ‘Office Romance’, Lopez plays a CEO who falls for her newly hired employee, played by Goldstein. The story centers on a high-stakes workplace romance, secret tension, and the kind of forbidden dynamic that rom-com fans usually eat up.
Lopez’s Lace-Up Look Stole Attention
The chemistry talk was not the only thing getting noticed.
Lopez arrived in a blush brocade vintage Jean Paul Gaultier Fall 2004 skirt suit with corset lace-up detailing and sheer panel accents. The look mixed soft romance with sharp tailoring, which fit the night perfectly. She finished it with sleek Femme LA Opera sandals, keeping the styling clean so the couture could stay in focus.
Between the vintage look, the Netflix stage moment, and her glowing comments about Goldstein, Lopez gave fans plenty to talk about before the trailer even had to do the heavy lifting.
Now the real question is whether ‘Office Romance’ can turn that red carpet chemistry into a streaming hit.
