Donald Trump has sparked fresh health questions after a new photo appeared to show a large mark on his hand as he left the White House.
The president was photographed on Tuesday while heading to Marine One before traveling to Joint Base Andrews for a trip to China. In one image, viewers claimed it looked like Trump had a “hole” or missing patch of skin on his hand.
The photo quickly spread online, adding to ongoing speculation about bruising and marks previously seen on the back of Trump’s hands.
Trump’s Hand Photo Sparks Online Concern
Independent journalist Aaron Rupar identified the photo as one taken by Kent Nishimura for AFP. The image quickly became a talking point on social media, where users argued over whether the mark looked serious or was being exaggerated.

White House spokesperson Davis Ingle pushed back against the health speculation, saying Trump remains in strong condition.
“President Trump is the sharpest and most accessible President in American history who is working nonstop to solve problems and deliver on his promises,” Ingle said. “He remains in excellent health.”
That did not stop the internet from zooming in. One user claimed, “Been saying forever that his veins in that hand are gone.. zero blood flow.” Another joked that the image looked like something out of a fantasy horror story, while a third wrote that “diseased locusts” might burst out of the mark.
Supporters Say The Concern Is Overblown
Not everyone believed the photo pointed to a serious issue.
Some users defended Trump, arguing that if something were truly wrong with his hand, it would likely affect his ability to play golf.
“Have you ever thought that if there was something truly wrong with his hand, he would not be able to play golf, especially at the level he does?” one person wrote.
Another dismissed the reaction as age-related overanalysis, asking whether “wrinkled, bruised skin typical of advanced age” was now being treated as disfigurement.
Still, the photo fed into a larger pattern of online concern about Trump’s health, especially given his age and recent medical appointments.
Trump’s Doctor Visit Adds To Speculation
At 79, Trump is the oldest person ever elected president, and his health has remained a frequent subject of public scrutiny.
Rumors grew after reports said he would be seeing both a doctor and a dentist later this month. Trump has repeatedly insisted he is healthy and has said he feels the same way he did decades ago. He has also addressed cognitive testing on Truth Social, claiming he took the exam three times and “ACED IT ALL THREE TIMES.”
Trump previously said he regretted getting heart and abdomen scans because of the questions they raised. His doctor said in April last year that he was “fully fit” to serve and noted that Trump had lost weight since a 2020 checkup.
For now, the White House says there is nothing wrong. But one highly zoomed-in hand photo was enough to send social media back into full health-speculation mode.
