Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Fallon turned a late-night reunion into a surprise kissing bit, and Fallon looked genuinely caught off guard.
During Monday’s episode of ‘The Late Show’, Colbert sat down with his fellow ‘Strike Force Five’ hosts Fallon, Seth Meyers, Jimmy Kimmel, and John Oliver. The group reunited after their 2023 podcast run, which raised money for staffers during the Hollywood strikes.
Then Colbert asked a simple question that immediately got weird. “How many of you have made out with a guest on camera?” he asked. His eyes apparently stayed on Fallon a little too long.

Colbert And Fallon Share Surprise Kiss
“Why would you look at me like that?” Fallon asked. Colbert explained that he assumed Fallon had kissed the most guests on camera. Fallon quickly turned the moment back on him. “No, I think you just wanted to make out with me,” Fallon joked.
So they did. The two hosts shared a quick kiss, and Fallon pulled back dramatically while fanning himself with a paddle. “Did not see that going that [way],” Fallon said.
The room cracked up, but the conversation only got stranger from there.
Kimmel And Oliver Recall Regis Philbin Moments
Kimmel revealed that he once kissed Regis Philbin on camera. “Not only did I kiss Regis, he chewed my gum,” Kimmel said.
Oliver then shared his own Regis story, though his sounded less romantic and more like a warning from a crime movie. “He kissed me on the top of the head,” Oliver said. “It felt like someone in the mafia labeling someone for a hit. It’s no way to say goodbye to a human being.”
Meyers seemed offended that he had been left out. “I met Regis multiple times, he never made a move on me!” he joked.
Fallon Says Martin Short Went Off-Script
Fallon also recalled kissing Martin Short when Short hosted ‘Saturday Night Live’ in 2024.
According to Fallon, the two had discussed the bit beforehand, and Short specifically said there would be no tongue. “I go, ‘Don’t worry about it. Of course I wouldn’t do it. What are you talking about, dude?’” Fallon said.
Then the live sketch happened. “He looks at me. Full-on tongue,” Fallon said. “Full-on, more than I’ve ever made out with anyone in high school.”
Colbert, however, had the longest list. He named Sally Field, Helen Mirren, Allison Janney, Jeff Daniels, and Andrew Garfield.
“Good list,” Meyers said.
Oliver then brought up Jane Fonda, but Colbert clarified that it was not exactly a kiss. “Jane Fonda and I did not make out, but she stuck her tongue in my ear,” Colbert said.
Oliver was not letting that slide. “That’s not making out?” he asked. “That’s fifth base in England!”
By the end, the late-night reunion had turned into a full confessional about celebrity kisses, awkward bits, and one Fallon-Colbert moment no one saw coming.
