Kim Kardashian may have stepped back from her bar exam plans, but she is not stepping away from criminal justice reform.

Ahead of Mother’s Day, the reality star and Skims founder helped organize visits for 50 incarcerated women to reunite with their children. Kardashian partnered with the REFORM Alliance and the Ladies of Hope Ministries to cover travel costs for families whose mothers are in federal prisons across the United States.

For some of the women, the holiday visit marks the first time they have seen their children in years.

Kim Kardashian Helps Reunite Mothers With Their Children

Kardashian said the goal was simple: help families spend Mother’s Day together.

“So many of these mothers have spent years away from their children and families, missing birthdays, holidays, and everyday moments most of us take for granted,” Kardashian said.

She added, “I’m honored to partner with Reform and LOHM to help reconnect these families so they can hold their children, laugh together, and simply be a family again.”

The families were reportedly selected on a first-come, first-served basis. Kardashian and the organizations covered the costs needed for the children to visit their mothers on Mother’s Day.

The project comes shortly after reports that Kardashian is pausing her own legal journey, with TMZ reporting she skipped the February bar exam and does not plan to sit for the July test either.

Kardashian Recently Visited A Women’s Prison

The Mother’s Day effort follows Kardashian’s recent visit to Central California Women’s Facility in Chowchilla, California, with Kris Jenner and Jessica Jackson of the REFORM Alliance.

Kardashian later shared that she had visited the prison’s hospice yard and was deeply affected by what she saw.

“Last week my mom and I visited a women’s prison, in Chowchilla, Central Californias Woman’s Facility hospice yard and witnessed something incredibly moving,” she wrote on Instagram.

She said many of the women had spent decades behind bars and had become family to one another.

“They [care] for women in hospice so no one has to die alone,” Kardashian wrote.

She added, “I’ve done this work for a long time, but the humanity, compassion, and love I saw there will stay with me forever.”

Her Reform Work Continues Despite Bar Exam Setback

Kardashian has spent years working on criminal justice reform, even as her formal path to becoming a lawyer has faced setbacks.

Her legal ambitions have often drawn skepticism, especially after her recent bar exam update. But this Mother’s Day project shows she is still active in the space, even without the lawyer title.

Jackson praised the effort and said the emotional weight of the project was clear.

“As a mother myself, I cannot imagine being separated from my children on Mother’s Day, let alone for years on end,” Jackson said.

She added, “We are deeply grateful to Kim and Topeka for this partnership, and I am so happy we are able to reunite fifty families this Mother’s Day.”

For Kardashian, the timing is notable. Her lawyer dream may be on hold, but her justice reform work is still moving. This time, the focus is not a courtroom. It is 50 mothers getting to hold their children again.
