Kylie Jenner’s 2026 Met Gala beauty risk did not end when she left the carpet.
The Kylie Cosmetics founder, 28, bleached her eyebrows for fashion’s biggest night on Monday, May 4, pairing the pale-brow look with a custom Schiaparelli design. The result made her look dramatically different, which was probably the point.
Then came the harder part: getting her brows back.
Jenner later shared a chaotic Instagram Stories clip showing herself with one brow still lightened and the other dyed closer to her usual dark shade. She could barely stop laughing.
“My brows are ruined. What is this? What is this?” Jenner said in the video.

Kylie Jenner’s Bleached Brows Backfire After Met Gala
Jenner kept filming as the brow fix appeared to go off track.
“This looks horrible,” she said, laughing while showing fans the uneven result. In the clip, celebrity hairstylist Iggy Rosales was jokingly blamed for leaving her “with no hair.”
“This looks horrible,” Jenner repeated.
She wrote over the clip, “Trying to dye my brows back,” adding a shocked emoji.
The good news came quickly. Jenner later posted a close-up update on May 5 showing her dark, arched brows looking far closer to normal.
“The brows survived,” she wrote.

Her Schiaparelli Look Was Built Around A Dramatic Beauty Shift
Jenner’s bleached-brow moment was not random.
Before the event, she had already warned fans about the change, writing on Instagram Stories, “I don’t have any brows wish me luck.”
Her longtime glam team leaned into the idea because the Schiaparelli look was designed to feel sculptural and in motion. Jenner wore a structured corset-style upper half with a voluminous butter duchess satin skirt.
The skirt required roughly 11,000 hours of embroidery work. It featured more than 2,000 satin stitch balls, 10,000 natural baroque pearls, and over 7,000 painted pearlescent fish-scale details.
Rosales told Vogue, “The dress feels like it’s slipping away. It becomes this living sculpture.”
He said the beauty look had to extend that idea.
“We even tested no brows just to see how far we could push it,” Rosales said.
Kylie Jenner’s Ninth Met Gala Came With A Beauty Scare
Monday marked Jenner’s ninth Met Gala appearance.
She completed the Schiaparelli look with an antique silver necklace decorated with rhinestones, pearls, and small hand-sculpted bird heads. Matching chandelier earrings added more pearls and crystal stones, while her dark hair was styled in soft curls.
The outfit was Jenner’s take on this year’s ‘Costume Art’ theme and ‘Fashion Is Art’ dress code. The exhibition explored the connection between clothing, bodies, and art history, pairing costume pieces with artwork spanning thousands of years.
The gala was co-chaired by Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and Anna Wintour. Beyoncé also made her first Met Gala appearance since 2016.
Still, Jenner’s biggest post-carpet story was not the dress. It was the brow panic.
For one night, she pushed her beauty look as far as she could. Then she had to find out whether her signature brows would make it back in one piece.
