Hugh Jackman’s longtime friendship with Ivanka Trump is reportedly creating tension in his relationship with Sutton Foster.
According to insiders, Jackman’s connection to Ivanka is not new or casual. He and his ex-wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, have reportedly known Ivanka for decades, and that relationship has continued even as politics around the Trump family became more divisive.
“Hugh and Ivanka go way back,” one insider claimed. “This isn’t some casual Hollywood friendship. They’ve stayed genuinely close for years, and that relationship has never really changed.”
That history is now allegedly making Foster uncomfortable.
Sutton Reportedly Does Not Fit In That Circle
Sources claim Foster’s political views are very different from the Ivanka and Jared Kushner social world.
“Sutton’s politics are very different,” the insider said. “She’s vocal about where she stands, and the Ivanka-Jared circle is not a world she feels comfortable in, socially or politically.”
The source added that seeing Jackman at ease around that group “definitely hit a nerve.” “That room was never going to be Sutton’s scene,” the insider claimed.
Jackman Has Defended The Friendship Before
Jackman previously addressed his friendship with Ivanka during a 2018 appearance on ‘The View.’
At the time, he pushed back on the idea that he should cut ties with longtime friends because of politics.
“People question, ‘Really?’” Jackman said. “And I’m kinda like, ‘OK, let’s say your friends of 20 years’ father became president.’”
He added, “Whether you agree with the politics or not, do you just dump your friends? I’m like, ‘No, no you don’t.’ I don’t understand that.”
Sources Say Jackman And Foster Are Still Trying
Despite the alleged tension, insiders claim Jackman and Foster are not falling apart over the issue.
“They care deeply about each other,” one source said. “But when politics enters the conversation, it can get tense fast. That’s where the real sparks fly.”
Jackman and Foster were first linked after working together on Broadway’s ‘The Music Man.’ Their relationship has drawn attention because reports have claimed it began while both were still married.
