Steve Harvey knows what divorce looks like, and he knows what public marriage drama can do to a name. That is part of why the latest rumors about him and Marjorie Harvey got so much attention. For months, the internet has been pushing talk of cheating, a split, and even a massive divorce payout. Steve and Marjorie say none of it is true. The problem is, their long history and his past divorces keep the gossip alive anyway.
That is what makes this story stick. Steve is not some celebrity husband with no baggage. He has been divorced twice before, and both breakups left behind tension, headlines, and plenty for people to revisit. So when fresh claims started flying about his marriage to Marjorie, fans did not just ignore them.

Steve And Marjorie Push Back On Divorce Rumors
The rumors were ugly. Online claims suggested Marjorie had cheated on Steve with both the couple’s bodyguard and their chef. The same gossip also claimed she was demanding a $200 million divorce settlement.
Steve shut that down in public during an appearance at Invest Fest in Atlanta in August 2023. “I’m fine. Marjorie fine,” he told the crowd. “I don’t know what y’all are doing, but find something else to do, ‘cause we fine. Lord, have mercy.”
He made it clear he had little interest in feeding the chatter. “Sometimes … you wanna respond, but I ain’t got no time for rumor and gossip,” Steve said. “God been good to me. I’m still shining.”
Marjorie later addressed the situation herself on Instagram. “My husband and I don’t usually stop to address all the foolishness and lies that have been spread about us,” she wrote. She added that she felt some responsibility to speak because not everyone is “as strong as we are.”
That all sounds firm. But with Steve Harvey, the past always hangs nearby.
Steve’s Divorce History Keeps Fueling The Talk
Steve and Marjorie married in 2007, and he has often credited her with changing his life for the better. Before that, though, he had already gone through two marriages.
He married his first wife, Marcia Harvey, in 1981. They had three children together: twin daughters Brandi and Karli, born in 1982, and a son, Broderick Harvey Jr., born in 1991. Their marriage ended in 1994.
He later married Mary Harvey in 1996, and that marriage ended in 2005.
Steve’s first divorce still gets attention because of what came out later. In her 2011 book, ‘Marcia: Eyes to the Soul,’ Marcia reflected on the strain the marriage faced as Steve’s career kept pulling him away. Court records also showed he did not initially pay alimony or child support, and a judge later stepped in.
That kind of history changes how people read new rumors, even when the couple insists everything is solid.
Where Steve And Marjorie Stand Now
At least publicly, Steve and Marjorie are still moving like a couple with no interest in splitting. In July 2024, Steve posted a photo from their Italy getaway as they celebrated 17 years of marriage. “Still going strong,” he wrote.
That may be the clearest message they want out there. The rumors are loud. Their answer is simple. They are still together, still posting, and still trying to show the story is not ending in divorce number three.
