Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein are denying romance talk now, but a new report claims there may have been more to the story behind the scenes.
The two actors co-star in the upcoming Netflix romantic comedy ‘Office Romance,’ and speculation around their offscreen connection has already followed them into the press tour. Lopez, 56, and Goldstein, 45, recently shut down dating rumors during a live TV appearance.
Still, according to a source, the pair’s connection allegedly went beyond friendly co-star energy while filming. “They kept things professional on set while filming but their chemistry was undeniable,” the insider claimed.
Their Set Chemistry Reportedly Got People Talking
The source said Lopez and Goldstein tried to keep things quiet while working on the movie.
“They tried to keep things low-key during the months while filming but flirted here and there on set, and they definitely had a strong connection,” the insider said.
The alleged connection reportedly became more obvious after filming ended. “Everyone saw them getting very cozy together at the wrap party and it was obvious they were into each other,” the source added.
According to the report, Lopez and Goldstein also attended the Broadway play ‘Oh, Mary!’ in New York City together in early 2025. The insider claimed that once production wrapped, the two had more room to explore whatever was happening between them. “Once filming wrapped, they were free to take things further and dated for quite some time,” the source said.

The Alleged Romance Reportedly Fizzled
The reported fling did not turn into anything serious, according to the insider.
“They liked spending time together and Brett made her happy,” the source said. “But things just sort of fizzled out between them since last year.”
The source also claimed there is no bad feeling between them. “There’s no bad blood but it just kind of came to a lull,” the insider said. “They have a good friendship but in terms of romantic chemistry, that ship has sort of sailed.” The source described the connection as brief and said they eventually decided friendship made more sense.
Goldstein’s Old Lopez Crush Added Fuel
News of ‘Office Romance’ first surfaced in September 2024, with Goldstein set to star opposite Lopez. Fans quickly pointed out that the ‘Ted Lasso’ alum had openly admired Lopez for years on his podcast ‘Films To Be Buried With.’
In one resurfaced 2018 clip, Goldstein praised Lopez’s appearance in ‘Hustlers.’ “She’s 50! I love her,” he said. He also joked about wanting one of her famous on-screen hugs after watching a scene from the movie.
That history made the new romance claims even juicier for fans.
Lopez Shut Down The Rumors On Live TV
Lopez and Goldstein addressed the speculation during a ‘Today’ show appearance while promoting ‘Office Romance.’
Savannah Guthrie asked whether the talk about their offscreen chemistry was true. Lopez pushed back on the constant pairing rumors that follow her whenever she works with someone.
“There’s never a time when I’m seen with somebody or working with somebody where they don’t try to put me with the person,” Lopez said.
Guthrie pressed again, telling Lopez that her answer was not really an answer. “Not dating,” Lopez finally said. Goldstein backed her up with one word: “Correct.”
For now, Lopez and Goldstein are publicly saying they are just friends. The latest report, however, suggests fans may not have imagined all that chemistry.
