Jonathan Majors is making a return to acting following the legal troubles that reshaped his career in 2023.

The actor, once considered one of Hollywood’s fastest-rising stars, was convicted that year in connection with an assault case involving his former girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. In the aftermath, several major studios distanced themselves from Majors, including Marvel Studios, where he had been positioned as a central figure in the franchise’s future.

Now, Majors has been cast in a leading role in an upcoming action film backed by The Daily Wire, a conservative media company expanding into film production. Details about the project remain limited, but reports indicate the story draws inspiration from action films of the 1980s and 1990s. The screenplay is set to be written by Kyle Rankin, with multiple producers attached to the project.

Following his conviction, Majors saw several projects halted or canceled, marking a significant shift in his trajectory within the industry. Marvel later announced a change in direction for its villain storyline.

In addition to the new action film, Majors is reportedly attached to Merciless, a supernatural revenge thriller directed by Martin Villeneuve.

While it remains to be seen how audiences and the industry will respond to his return, the upcoming roles signal an attempt to rebuild a career that once appeared poised for long-term mainstream success.
