Alice Evans became emotional in court as her ex-husband, actor Ioan Gruffudd, seeks to renew a domestic violence restraining order against her.
During testimony, Evans tearfully described the moment she learned their marriage was ending, saying she was shocked and devastated when informed through Gruffudd’s lawyer that he intended to file for divorce. She also spoke about discovering his new relationship via social media, calling it one of the most painful experiences of her life.
The hearing marks the fourth day of proceedings tied to Gruffudd’s request to extend an existing restraining order. The former couple, who married in 2007 and separated in 2021, have been engaged in ongoing legal disputes involving custody of their two daughters as well as financial support.
Gruffudd alleges that Evans has engaged in a prolonged campaign of harassment against him and his current wife, Bianca Wallace, whom he married last year. He is also seeking to end spousal support payments, citing alleged violations of the restraining order.
Evans denies any continued harassment and is asking the court to dismiss the request for renewal. She has also requested adjustments to financial support arrangements. In court, Evans acknowledged sending emotional messages and posting about Gruffudd and Wallace online, expressing regret and apologizing for past statements.
The case remains ongoing, with the court expected to determine whether the restraining order will be extended.
