Disney+ is expanding the world of Percy Jackson and the Olympians with a major casting update for Season 3—and it’s bringing serious star power to Mount Olympus.

According to Variety, Ming-Na Wen has been cast as Hera, the queen of the gods. The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. alum will portray the powerful and poised wife of Zeus, played by Courtney B. Vance. Described as regal, maternal, and sharp-tongued, Hera is expected to make a strong impression as the mythological drama continues to escalate. Wen adds the role to a résumé that includes ER, Stargate Universe, and The Book of Boba Fett.

She won’t be the only new Olympian entering the story. Jennifer Beals, best known for The L Word, is joining the series as Demeter, goddess of the harvest. Her character is set to play a key role in preventing the return of Kronos, the looming Titan threat at the center of the series’ larger arc.

Meanwhile, rising actor Hubert Smielecki has been cast as Apollo, the charismatic god of the sun and twin brother of Artemis, played by Dafne Keen. With these additions, Season 3 promises to deepen the mythology and raise the stakes when Percy Jackson returns to Disney+ later this year.
