
Lee Jun Hyuk and Jang Do Yeon are set to reunite as co-hosts for the opening ceremony of the 21st Jecheon International Music & Film Festival (JIMFF), set to take place this September in Jecheon, South Korea.
Festival organizers announced Thursday that the two will take the stage together on opening night. Their on-screen chemistry first caught public attention during an episode of the popular YouTube talk show Salon Drip, where their chemistry quickly went viral.
Lee Jun Hyuk has established himself as a versatile actor, with a filmography spanning critically acclaimed dramas and box office hits. His television credits include Stranger, Designated Survivor: 60 Days, Dark Hole, and Vigilante. On the big screen, he’s appeared in major Korean films such as the Along with the Gods series, Baseball Girl, and The Roundup: No Way Out.
He recently gained further popularity with his lead role in the successful spin-off drama Dongjae, the Good or the Bastard, as well as the romantic comedy Love Scout, which won over audiences with its romantic fantasy storyline. Earlier this month, Lee received the Popular Star Award at the Blue Dragon Series Awards, one of Korea’s top honors for streaming and TV content. He’s currently working on multiple new projects, including Lotto 1st Place Winner Goes To Work Too, The Art of Sarah, and The Man Who Lives with the King, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Jang Hang Jun.
Jang Do Yeon, known for her sharp wit and warm, relatable presence, is one of Korea’s most in-demand female MCs. Since debuting in 2007 as part of KBS’s 22nd class of comedians, she’s made her mark on iconic comedy shows like Gag Concert and Comedy Big League.
Jang Do Yeon’s hosting career has since flourished. On Salon Drip, she’s praised for her natural chemistry with guests. Her appearances on shows like Radio Star bring a mix of humor and charisma, while her narration on The Story of the Day That Bit the Tail has earned acclaim for its thoughtful storytelling. Most recently, she took a step into acting, appearing in the indie romance film Your Country, co-directed by Lee Ok Seop and Koo Kyo Hwan, where she stars opposite Koo Kyo Hwan in a budding on-screen romance.
The pair’s flirty exchange on Salon Drip went viral when Lee complimented Jang Do Yeon, saying, “You’re even more beautiful in person. It’s unbelievable.” Their chemistry became a fan-favorite moment, gained new attention when Lee Jun Hyuk sent Jang Do Yeon a gift in celebration of the show’s 100th episode, fueling even more speculation and public interest in their dynamic.
As Asia’s only dedicated music film festival, JIMFF celebrates the intersection of film and music. This year’s edition, running from September 4 to 9, will feature a wide array of international films focused on music and musicians, appealing to both film and music enthusiasts.
