WINNER’s Kang Seung Yoon sparked laughter with a playful confession about feeling competitive toward John Park during his appearance on the upcoming episode of MBC’s Save Me! Homez, airing on Thursday.

The episode features a music-filled, sentimental outing designed to capture the last moments of Korea’s increasingly brief autumn. Host Kim Sook notes that recent climate data shows summer lasting longer while autumn has shortened by about ten days—prompting the team to plan a seasonal emotional field trip. Kang Seung Yoon joins Kim Sook and Joo Woo Jae for the fall-themed house-hunting adventure.

Before the tours begin, Kang Seung Yoon stops by the studio to introduce “ME (?),” the title track of his newly released second solo album. Describing the song as a synth-pop rock track with a beautiful melody, he performs an impromptu version accompanied by the Homez cast. Jang Dong Min jokingly responds, “You should hire us as your session band for your next concert,” earning laughs from the room.

Kang Seung Yoon also talks about redecorating his home while on military leave last year. Asked about his style, he says, “I went for a mid-century modern look—mixing some industrial touches with cozy elements.” He adds that he even created a personal hobby room equipped with a recliner, vinyl records, and photos, though he admits he’s only used it about five times.

Kang Seung Yoon then shares behind-the-scenes stories from a recent trip to Australia with his Superstar K2 castmates. “Kim Ji Soo suggested a simple in-country trip in our group chat,” he explains, “but on John Park’s personal YouTube channel, it suddenly escalated into an Australia trip. We even ended up meeting Hollywood actors and doing interviews.”

Joo Woo Jae jokingly asks, “When you all travel, who’s the first to pick up the bill—does it go by your ranking on the show or by age?”

Kang Seung Yoon laughs: “Conveniently, Huh Gak—who won first place—is also the oldest. I’d love to treat everyone too, but he always insists on paying.”

Later in the episode, Kang Seung Yoon heads to Seoul’s historic Jongno district—known for its classic autumn scenery—alongside Kim Sook and Joo Woo Jae. Before filming the opening, Kim Sook teases him: “Seung Yoon, today feels like a concert. Lim Young Woong performed 17 songs when he visited, and John Park sang 25.”

Kang Seung Yoon responds with a grin, “I’ve always had a bit of a complex about John Park. He placed second on Superstar K2, and I finished fourth. If he sang 25 songs, I can definitely do 40.”
