The Seoul Eastern District Prosecutor’s Office announced on Monday that they have charged the woman, identified only as A, with sexual assault without detention on November 12.

The incident occurred during a hug event held last June at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Songpa-gu, Seoul. Over 1,000 fans gathered to celebrate Jin’s completion of military service. A allegedly kissed Jin on the cheek during this official fan gathering, which took place shortly after his discharge.

The investigation was initiated following a public complaint. The Songpa Police Station initially filed charges against A and requested her presence for questioning. However, anticipating a lengthy investigation, they decided to suspend it in March. The case was reopened when A voluntarily appeared at the police station. After determining there was sufficient evidence, the police referred the case to the prosecution on sexual assault charges.
