Kylie Jenner probably meant her Coachella house tour to be a glossy little flex. The internet saw something else. After posting a video of the massive property where she appears to be staying during Coachella 2026, Kylie got hit with a wave of backlash from viewers who called the whole thing “dystopian,” “out of touch,” and impossible to watch without feeling broke.

The reaction was swift because the video had all the ingredients people love to hate right now. Mansion. Mountains. Golf cart. Elevator. Basketball court. Movie theater. In other words, not exactly subtle.

Kylie’s Coachella House Tour Sparks Instant Backlash

In the TikTok and Instagram clip, Kylie appears to give fans a look inside her family’s Palm Springs-area property while spending the festival weekend with friends, including Anastasia Karanikolaou, Victoria Villarroel, and Harry Hudson.

Set to Sabrina Carpenter’s ‘House Tour,’ the video starts with Kylie pulling up to the estate in what looks like a Club Car golf cart. From there, she walks through an enormous indoor-outdoor living area with over-sized furniture, a huge pool, and wide mountain views.

She then takes an elevator to another section of the house, where viewers get a glimpse of an indoor basketball court and a movie theater, complete with a Justin Bieber music video playing on the screen. The clip ends on a quiet patio framed by greenery and mountains, very calm, very expensive, very much not the vibe for everyone watching at home. That is where the mood online turned.

Internet Calls The Video ‘Dystopian’ And ‘Out Of Touch’

Across Instagram and TikTok, viewers made it clear they were not charmed. One Instagram user called the video “dystopian,” adding, “I had to make a decision between gas and groceries this week.” Another wrote, “Watching this while I sit in my studio apartment struggling to live a basic life.”

Others got even more blunt. “People starving btw,” one person commented. Another wrote, “Gas is $7 a gallon babes, not rn.” Over on TikTok, one user said, “No one should be this rich,” while another summed up the mood with, “So out of touch it’s actually funny.”

A few comments leaned into dark humor. “I just got called poor in many different ways,” one viewer joked. But the bigger point was clear. What Kylie posted as a dreamy festival stay ended up reading to a lot of people as a giant reminder of how absurd celebrity wealth can look right now.

And that is what made the video travel. Not the decor. Not the views. Not even Coachella. It was the gap between the fantasy she showed and the reality people say they are living.
