Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is reportedly still making life awkward at Sandringham, and even his own family seems fed up.

The disgraced former prince has been staying at Wood Farm on the Sandringham estate after being pushed out of Royal Lodge, and what was supposed to be a temporary stop appears to have stretched longer than some relatives wanted. Recent reporting said Andrew had been expected to move into Marsh Farm once renovations were finished, but he was allegedly slow-walking the switch, leaving Prince Edward and Sophie unable to use Wood Farm over Easter as planned.

That detail alone would have been enough to get royal-watchers talking. But with Andrew’s legal troubles and exile from the family’s inner circle still hanging over everything, the housing drama looks even worse.

Prince Andrew Reportedly Took His Time Leaving Wood Farm

According to recent coverage, Andrew had been going back and forth between Wood Farm and Marsh Farm while the final move dragged out. One insider quoted in the reporting said, “It’s got to be sorted as Edward and Sophie like to use Wood Farm.” The same reports said Edward and Sophie ended up staying elsewhere on the estate over Easter because Andrew was still there.

Wood Farm is no random cottage, either. It is the quiet Sandringham home where Prince Philip spent much of his retirement, which gives the whole standoff a more pointed edge. Andrew had only moved there after leaving Royal Lodge, the 30-room Windsor property he had leased since 2003 before being forced out.

The Legal Cloud Over Andrew Is Still There

The housing mess is unfolding against a much darker backdrop. Andrew was arrested on February 19, 2026, at Wood Farm on suspicion of misconduct in public office and was later released under investigation. The allegations relate to claims that he may have shared confidential information with Jeffrey Epstein while serving as a UK trade envoy.

That arrest made his Sandringham stay look less like a quiet royal retreat and more like a very public exile. It also helps explain why King Charles has kept him at arm’s length. Andrew and Sarah Ferguson were absent from this year’s main Easter gathering at Windsor, while other senior royals, including Charles, Camilla, William, and Kate, attended the service at St. George’s Chapel.

He Has Now Moved, but the Damage Is Done

The latest wrinkle is that Andrew has now reportedly completed the move to Marsh Farm, ending the immediate Wood Farm issue. Even so, the delay itself became a story because it fed the wider impression that he remains a difficult, embarrassing problem the royal family still cannot fully solve.

So what is the real picture here?

For now, the question hanging over Sandringham is a simple one: what kind of residence is really suitable for a fallen former prince? And, as some online readers have bluntly suggested, should London apartment life be his next stop instead?
