Gigi Hadid is pushing back after her name and Bella Hadid’s surfaced in the Epstein files. She says she had absolutely nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein and found the whole thing deeply disturbing.
The model addressed the issue after a commenter called her out for staying quiet. That response appears to have forced the conversation into the open, with Gigi explaining why she initially chose not to say anything and why she ultimately decided she had to.
Why Gigi Hadid Finally Spoke Up
The renewed attention comes from a 2015 email exchange involving Epstein and a redacted person. In the message, the two discussed how Gigi and Bella became successful models and made so much money. At one point, the anonymous person suggested that their father may have paid an agency. Epstein pushed back and replied, “No,” before adding, “Because they follow directions, it’s that simple.”
After the email became public, one social media user commented under one of Gigi’s Instagram posts, saying they had unfollowed her because she had not addressed being mentioned in the files.
Gigi then replied in a since-deleted comment and explained why she had stayed silent. “Horrible to read someone you’ve never met speak about you that way. Especially in this context,” she wrote. She also said she did not want her response to distract from the stories of Epstein’s actual victims.
Gigi Calls Her Mention in the Files ‘Disturbing’
Gigi decided to speak up as the online reaction made her realize that silence could be misunderstood.
“To be named in those files, I think I was 20-21 at the time he would have written that email, is disturbing,” she wrote. She further added, “I want to state unequivocally that I have never had any affiliation with that disgusting human being.”
Gigi also acknowledged that she grew up with privilege, but said her parents, Mohamed Hadid and Yolanda Hadid, raised her to work hard and protected her.
The larger issue here is obvious. Being mentioned in documents tied to Epstein, even without any actual connection, carries an instant stain. Gigi Hadid seems to understand that, which is probably why she chose such blunt language once she decided to respond. For public figures, sometimes a name appearing in the wrong place is enough to trigger a whole fresh round of suspicion. This time, she wanted no room left for doubt.
