A man driving a convertible through South Florida got filmed, posted, and instantly dragged into wild Jeffrey Epstein chatter, forcing him to publicly explain that he is not the late convicted sex offender people thought they spotted.
The clip first spread after Andrew Posey posted it on March 13, then picked up more speed when the OnlyInFlorida Instagram account shared it days later. The man in the video wore dark sunglasses and a backward white cap while driving through traffic. A short caption pushed the joke hard, and that was enough to send the footage flying across social platforms.
Before long, people were dissecting the man’s face, trading theories, and piling on with jokes about the resemblance. Some brushed it off as another Florida moment, while others treated it like an actual mystery to solve. Either way, the internet did what it always does when a strange visual lands at the right time.
Palm Beach Pete breaks his silence
The man at the center of it all later gave an interview to clear things up. He identified himself as Palm Beach Pete, a Soho fashion entrepreneur, former real estate executive, and former Division 1 tennis player. According to Pete, he was just driving on I-95 to go play tennis when everything suddenly blew up.
He sounded amused more than angry. Pete said he had been minding his own business when someone filmed him, and then his phone started exploding. He also made a point of joking about where he is from, insisting Palm Beach is not the same as West Palm Beach.
Viral fame followed him offline too
The clip did not stay online. Pete said the attention quickly spilled into real life, including a dinner outing with his girlfriend where nearby tables kept watching him. Instead of shrinking from it, he walked over and asked if they were talking about him.
They were. The group recognized him from the viral video and asked for a photo. Later, the bartender wanted one too, which made the whole thing feel even more absurd. What started as a random drive had turned him into a local curiosity almost overnight.
