Chappell Roan is pushing back hard after finding herself at the center of a tense and emotional situation involving a young fan. The rising pop star addressed claims made by Brazilian soccer player Jorginho Frello, who accused someone tied to her team of confronting his daughter during a hotel breakfast in São Paulo.

The incident, which quickly gained traction online, unfolded while Roan was in the city for her Lollapalooza Brazil performance. According to Frello, his daughter spotted the singer from a distance, walked past to confirm it was her, smiled, and returned to her table without saying a word. Moments later, he claimed, a security guard approached his wife and daughter in what he described as an “extremely aggressive” manner.

Frello said the encounter left his daughter visibly shaken. He shared that she “was severely upset and cried extensively,” adding that the experience changed how she felt about an artist she had once admired. The soccer star didn’t hold back, suggesting the situation reflected a larger issue about how fans are treated.

Roan, however, tells a very different story. Taking to social media, she made it clear she had no direct involvement and didn’t even witness the interaction. “I did not instruct any security guard to approach this mother and child,” she said, explaining that the individual in question was not part of her personal security team. “I was simply having breakfast at my hotel.”

She also addressed the growing narrative head-on. “I absolutely do not harbor any ill feelings towards my fans or children. That’s absurd,” Roan said, adding that she felt deeply sorry the family had a negative experience. Her message struck a balance between distancing herself from the incident and acknowledging the discomfort caused.

The moment has sparked fresh conversation around celebrity boundaries, especially as Roan’s popularity continues to surge following hits like Pink Pony Club and her breakout Grammy win. Known for being vocal about personal space and fan interactions, she has previously drawn clear lines about what is and isn’t acceptable in public settings.

Now, with two very different versions of what happened, the situation is leaving fans divided. One social media user summed up the mood bluntly, writing, “There’s clearly more to this story than we’re hearing.”
