Selena Gomez is opening up about her hopes for a big family with husband Benny Blanco, revealing that her dream future includes four children and a lively dinner table inspired by a memorable movie moment.

The singer and actress shared the personal detail during an episode of Friends Keep Secrets, the podcast hosted by Blanco alongside rapper Lil Dicky and Kristin Batalucco. While discussing future family plans, the conversation turned to how many children each of them might want.

When the question reached Gomez, she surprised the group with her answer. “I want four, but that’s out there,” she said with a laugh, acknowledging that her vision might be ambitious.

For Gomez, the inspiration for that dream comes from a scene in the 2005 holiday film The Family Stone. The movie features a chaotic yet heartfelt dinner table filled with relatives, partners, and friends, something Gomez says reminds her of her own family gatherings growing up.

“One day, when I’m her age, I want to see that dinner table at my house,” Gomez explained, referencing Diane Keaton’s character in the film. She added that what matters most to her is the sense of connection and warmth around the table, regardless of what shape her family ultimately takes.

The topic carries added emotional weight for Gomez, who has previously spoken about health complications related to lupus and a kidney transplant in 2017. In a 2024 interview with Vanity Fair, she revealed that those medical issues mean she cannot carry children herself, a realization she described as deeply painful at first.

Despite that challenge, Gomez has said she remains open to other paths to motherhood, including surrogacy or adoption. Before meeting Blanco, she had even considered adopting on her own by the time she turned 35.

Blanco has also spoken publicly about wanting children. In a 2025 interview with InStyle, the music producer said he hopes to become a father one day, explaining that he already loves spending time with his nieces and nephews.

The couple married in September 2025 during an intimate ceremony in Santa Barbara attended by close friends and family. While Gomez admits her dream of four children may or may not happen, she says the real goal is simply building a home filled with love, laughter, and a crowded dinner table.
