Zendaya may have just added new fuel to the long-running rumors that she secretly married fellow actor Tom Holland.
The speculation intensified during the Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards on March 12, where the Dune star was asked directly about the swirling wedding rumors.
During the event, host Marsai Martin addressed Zendaya’s famously private personal life before asking the actress to give some kind of sign about the truth behind the rumors.
Zendaya responded by holding up her hand and flashing a gold band on her ring finger, prompting loud cheers from the audience.
According to People, several attendees at the event immediately began congratulating the actress, interpreting the gesture as confirmation that she had tied the knot.
Zendaya’s outfit that evening also caught attention. The Emmy-winning actress wore an all-white mini dress previously worn by Whitney Houston and Sarah Jessica Parker, paired with gold jewelry.
The ring itself had already sparked speculation earlier in the week. Zendaya was photographed wearing a thin gold band during the Louis Vuitton fashion show on March 10.
Rumors about a possible secret wedding between Zendaya and Holland intensified after her longtime stylist, Law Roach, made a surprising remark earlier this month.
Speaking to Access Hollywood at the Actor Awards on March 1, Roach reportedly told reporters, “The wedding has already happened. You missed it.”
Zendaya and Holland, who starred together in the Spider-Man films, have kept much of their relationship private despite years of public interest.
