Nicole Kidman is reportedly approaching her next chapter cautiously following her separation from country singer Keith Urban.
According to a report from Woman’s Day, the Oscar-winning actor has outlined a set of personal guidelines for herself as she considers returning to the dating scene after the end of her long-term marriage.
Kidman and Urban, who married in 2006, reportedly separated in September 2025. Their divorce was finalized in January after nearly two decades together.
A source cited by the magazine said Kidman is taking a deliberate and selective approach to any potential relationships moving forward.
“Nicole has a clear vision of what she wants now and isn’t shy about pursuing what she feels she deserves,” the insider said.
The report claims Kidman has established several personal preferences for a future partner. Among them, the source said she would prefer someone outside the acting industry.
According to the same report, qualities such as kindness and emotional stability are said to be particularly important to the actor as she considers future relationships.
Kidman is also reportedly open to dating someone who has children, though the source suggested she would prefer that they be close in age to her daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret.
The actor shares the two children with Urban.
The report also suggested that Kidman is relying on her close circle of friends to help screen potential partners before she meets them.
“She won’t even consider meeting someone unless they come recommended by someone she deeply trusts,” the insider told the outlet.
Kidman has not publicly commented on the report.
