Selena Gomez recently revealed that a mystery celebrity once tried his luck in her DMs—and her husband Benny Blanco had quite the reaction when he found out.
During a March 3 episode of Blanco’s podcast Friends Keep Secrets, the Only Murders in the Building star shared the story of a flirty message she received from an unnamed male celebrity. The moment came after Blanco asked her to scroll through her Instagram messages during the show.
What she found caught everyone off guard.
“Just heart eyes,” Selena said, describing the message. She added that it also included fingers-crossed emojis—suggesting the mystery admirer was hoping she might respond.
Blanco, 37, looked stunned when she revealed the message, immediately asking when it had been sent.
When Gomez confirmed it dated back to 2022, the room—including Blanco’s co-hosts Lil Dicky and Kristin Batalucco—reacted with disbelief.
At first, Lil Dicky suggested the message might have been a response to something Selena had posted on her Instagram Story. But Gomez clarified that wasn’t the case.
“There’s nothing,” she explained, saying the message wasn’t tied to any story or post.
Blanco agreed, joking that the sender appeared to be taking a bold shot without any real context. “He’s just saying, like, fingers crossed that you answer me back,” Blanco said with a laugh.
Despite the unexpected DM revelation, Blanco didn’t seem upset. In fact, he admitted he admired the confidence behind it.
“He took his shot,” he said. “It was a good shot.”
Gomez also brushed off the moment as harmless. She said she actually thought the message was sweet rather than inappropriate.
“If anything, that was very nice,” she said, adding that she had only just noticed the message for the first time during the podcast.
The couple, who married in September 2025, appeared relaxed and playful throughout the conversation—another glimpse into the dynamic that fans have come to love.
Gomez even shared a lighthearted show of affection during the episode, praising Blanco on social media afterward and calling him “my love.”
If the mysterious DM sender was hoping for a reply, though, it looks like he missed his chance.
