Lindsay Lohan is looking back at her teenage years in the spotlight with a mix of reflection and regret.
In a recent interview with Vogue Arabia, the 39-year-old actress spoke candidly about growing up under intense paparazzi scrutiny, particularly during a period marked by legal troubles and public controversy. She admitted that while parts of that era felt exciting at the time, it was also deeply overwhelming. “Now I look back and wonder, ‘Why didn’t anyone just go and take me out of there, protect me more?’” she said, noting that as a teenager, she didn’t know how to protect herself.
Lohan shared that she sometimes wishes she had listened to her parents and stepped away from Los Angeles earlier. Instead, she stayed, navigating fame at a young age while trying to build her career. Eventually, feeling disconnected from the work and the lifestyle, she relocated to Dubai in 2014—a move she describes as transformative.
Since marrying financier Bader Shammas in 2022 and welcoming their son, Luai, the following year, Lohan says she has found stability and peace. She credits the privacy she enjoys in Dubai as a major factor in her well-being, describing it as a “breath of fresh air.” Professionally, she is set to star in the upcoming Hulu miniseries Count My Lies, alongside Kit Harington and Shailene Woodley.
