Actor Crispin Glover is facing serious allegations following the filing of a new civil lawsuit in California.
A complaint submitted Wednesday in the Superior Court of California accuses the Back to the Future star of multiple claims, including battery, fraud, wrongful eviction, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and violations of the Tom Bane Civil Rights Act. The plaintiff, identified only as Jane Doe, is a British former model who states she is on the autism spectrum and has related mood disorders.
According to the lawsuit, the two first connected online in 2015 and maintained contact for several years. The plaintiff alleges that Glover encouraged her to relocate to Los Angeles, promising employment as his assistant and housing at one of his properties. She claims that after moving to the United States, the arrangement became coercive and abusive, alleging that he monitored her movements, pressured her into becoming his live-in partner, and physically assaulted her when she attempted to leave. The complaint also references an in-person meeting in Germany in 2023, during which she alleges Glover showed her items of Nazi memorabilia from his collection.
The plaintiff is seeking a jury trial and unspecified damages, including compensatory and punitive damages, as well as legal fees.
Glover’s attorney has strongly denied the allegations. In a statement to Entertainment Weekly, his legal representative asserted that Glover was the victim of an alleged assault in March 2024 and that police responded and arrested the plaintiff at that time. The attorney stated that Glover intends to vigorously contest the lawsuit and pursue all available legal remedies, describing the claims as fabricated.
The case remains pending, and no findings have been made in court.
