Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt is sharing a sweet family moment that truly moved her—proving that sometimes the smallest gestures leave the biggest impact.
In an interview with People, the author revealed she was nearly brought to tears after receiving a handwritten thank-you note from her brother Patrick Schwarzenegger and his wife, Abby Champion, following a weekend they spent together. Katherine admitted the note caught her completely off guard in the best way.
“I was almost brought to tears at the fact that she took time to write the thank-you card. It’s so classy,” Katherine said, emphasizing just how meaningful the gesture felt. She jokingly clarified that the thoughtful move was all Abby’s doing, adding, “Let’s be clear: it was not my brother doing it. It was his wife.”
Patrick and Abby, who began dating in 2015, got engaged in 2023 and tied the knot in September 2025 in an intimate ceremony. Katherine made it clear that she already adored her sister-in-law, but the handwritten note elevated her admiration even further.
For Katherine, handwritten cards are a cherished family tradition. She shared that her mom, Maria Shriver, sends her notes for Christmas and birthdays, and her sister does the same. Even her father, Arnold Schwarzenegger, writes her cards in what she described as “beautiful, flawless cursive.” Her husband, Chris Pratt, also keeps the tradition alive with Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day notes. “The fact that someone takes the time to do it is just so special,” Katherine said, underscoring how meaningful those personal touches are to her.
