Savannah Chrisley found herself in the hot seat on The View after making a bold—and quickly challenged—claim about Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

During her guest-host appearance on the Wednesday, February 14 episode of the ABC daytime talk show, the reality TV personality weighed in on AOC’s recent comments about tensions between China and Taiwan. The panel was discussing Ocasio-Cortez’s response at the Munich Security Conference, where she addressed questions about potential U.S. involvement in a Taiwan-China conflict, saying the goal should be to prevent escalation and avoid direct confrontation.

Some Republican critics, including President Donald Trump, argued that AOC’s answer lacked clarity. Chrisley echoed that criticism on air, drawing a distinction between a simple verbal slip and what she described as uncertainty on policy. “Mispronouncing a word is vastly different from not knowing your stance,” she said, arguing that political leaders must recover quickly and clearly when pressed on global issues.

But the conversation took a sharper turn when Chrisley claimed that AOC was the Democratic Party’s pick for the next presidential election. Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg immediately pushed back, with Goldberg pointing out that Ocasio-Cortez has not declared any intention to run for president. Chrisley doubled down, saying she believed AOC was being positioned as a future nominee.

In reality, Ocasio-Cortez has publicly denied having presidential ambitions. Speaking to The New York Times at the Munich conference, she clarified that her attendance was not tied to any campaign plans, but rather to raise concerns about economic inequality and the rise of far-right movements globally.

Chrisley, best known for Chrisley Knows Best, is temporarily filling in for co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin during her maternity leave. Her appearance has already sparked debate among viewers, with clips from the exchange circulating widely online.
