
The cause of death for Peter Greene, the character actor best known for his intense roles in Pulp Fiction and The Mask, has been officially confirmed.
Greene, 60, was found dead inside his New York City apartment on December 12 after a neighbor requested a wellness check. According to a statement from the New York City Chief Medical Examiner, the actor died from a gunshot wound to the left axilla, which damaged the brachial artery. His death has been ruled accidental.
Authorities were alerted after a neighbor reported hearing music playing continuously from Greene’s Manhattan apartment for more than 24 hours. A wellness check was conducted, and his body was discovered inside the residence.
Greene’s manager, Gregg Edwards, confirmed the actor’s passing the following day but did not initially disclose a cause of death.
A longtime presence in gritty crime dramas and cult classics, Greene was known for playing volatile and unforgettable characters. He appeared opposite John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson in Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction and delivered a chilling performance as Dorian Tyrell in The Mask alongside Jim Carrey.
