Demi Lovato shocked fans this week after announcing she is canceling multiple tour stops just as excitement for her return to the stage was building.

The Grammy-nominated singer shared the news directly with fans on Instagram, explaining that the decision came down to her health. While she said she was eager to perform in as many cities as possible, the reality of tour prep forced her to take a step back.

“My Lovatics — I’m thrilled to return to the stage this year,” Lovato wrote. But as rehearsals began and the schedule came into focus, she admitted she may have taken on too much. She told fans she realized she needed more time to rest and properly prepare if she wanted to deliver the kind of performances they deserve.

Lovato emphasized that building extra downtime into the schedule was not optional. She said protecting her well-being now will allow her to sustain the entire tour without burning out. The adjustment, however, comes with disappointment for several cities.

Charlotte, Nashville, Atlanta, Las Vegas, and Denver have all been cut from the itinerary. Lovato acknowledged how painful the decision was, saying it breaks her heart not to see those fans on this run. For Orlando ticket holders, the show has been moved to April 13, which will now serve as the tour’s official kickoff.

She also clarified refund details. Ticketmaster and AXS will automatically process refunds for the canceled dates. Those who purchased through third-party sellers are being instructed to contact their point of purchase directly. Fans holding tickets for the Orlando show will still be able to use them on the new date.

Lovato closed her message on a hopeful note, telling supporters she is excited to reunite with them and grateful for their understanding. With a revamped schedule and a renewed focus on balance, she appears determined to hit the stage stronger and healthier when the tour launches in Orlando on April 13.
