Beloved comedian and voice actor Jeff Garcia, best known as the unforgettable voice of Sheen Estevez on Nickelodeon’s The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, has died at 50.

Garcia passed away Wednesday in a Southern California hospital after being taken off life support, following a cerebral aneurysm earlier this year and a subsequent stroke, according to TMZ. His son, Joseph Garcia, confirmed the heartbreaking news on Instagram.

Fans of the early 2000s Nickelodeon classic will remember Garcia’s hilarious portrayal of Sheen—a hyperactive, Ultra Lord–obsessed kid who stole nearly every scene he was in. Garcia first voiced the character in the 2001 film Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius and continued the role through the series’ three-season run from 2002 to 2006. He later reprised the role in the spinoff Planet Sheen (2010–2011).

Beyond Nickelodeon, Garcia’s voice became a staple of animated film franchises. He lent his talents to Pip the Mouse in Barnyard and Back at the Barnyard, voiced Rinaldo the Penguin in Happy Feet and Happy Feet Two, and played multiple characters in the Rio movies.

Born May 3, 1975, in La Puente, California, Garcia began performing stand-up in the early 1990s. His sharp wit and spontaneous humor earned him a loyal following. In a 2015 interview, he once said, “My shows are about 60 percent made up right then and there. If people are paying money, they don’t want to see a live version of what they just saw on TV.”

Before his breakout Nickelodeon fame, Garcia appeared on Caroline in the City and Dangerous Minds, proving his comedic chops on screen. Later, he joined the cast of the CW sitcom Mr. Box Office alongside Bill Bellamy.

Throughout his career, Garcia’s distinct voice and humor brought joy to a generation of fans. His passing marks a heartbreaking loss for the animation and comedy communities alike.

Garcia is survived by his daughter, Savannah.
