Ed Sheeran has officially broken his silence on all the buzz about a supposed fallout with Taylor Swift, putting an end to weeks of fan speculation and tabloid chatter.
Rumors of tension between the two longtime friends began swirling after Sheeran admitted he learned about Swift’s lavish wedding to NFL superstar Travis Kelce through Instagram—a surprise to many, given their famously close bond. The timing only fueled whispers when Swift’s blockbuster album The Life of a Showgirl dropped just weeks before Sheeran’s own project, Play.
According to an insider quoted by The Mail, “Ed’s always strategic about releases—he gave months of notice for his album. Then Taylor suddenly announced hers two weeks later. It threw everyone for a loop.”
But now, the “Shivers” hitmaker is setting the record straight. Speaking with Access Hollywood, Sheeran was quick to shut down any drama:
“I’m totally comfortable with my relationship with Taylor. We’ve been friends for ages. Our bond is super tight, and whenever we catch up, it’s like no time has passed.”

Sheeran revealed he actually saw Swift in person just a week after her engagement—proof that the friendship is as solid as ever.
“I saw her a week after that whole thing. I did the interview, then we met up and talked face-to-face,” he shared.
Addressing why he found out about her big day online, Sheeran pointed out that his decision to live without a cell phone plays a big role.

“I just feel like being constantly connected to everyone actually diminishes real human interaction,” he explained.
Far from feuding, the duo’s friendship runs deep. Last year, Sheeran called Swift one of his few genuine allies in the industry. In a previous chat with Zane Lowe, he described their talks as “therapy sessions,” recalling a marathon conversation where they unpacked everything from fame to creative burnout.
So, despite the internet’s best efforts to stir the pot, it seems there’s no bad blood here—just two megastars who still have each other’s backs, even in the chaos of fame and social media.
