TV sweetheart Holly Willoughby is facing serious backlash after pleading guilty to knocking a man off his scooter while driving her black Mini Cooper. The 44-year-old former This Morning host admitted to driving “without due care and attention” after colliding with a motorist near her $3.8 million home in London last August.
While Holly didn’t appear in court, she entered a guilty plea by post under her married name, Holly Baldwin. CCTV footage shown in court reportedly captured the TV star turning right into a side street without signaling, hitting a man riding a white Piaggio scooter.
The victim, whose name wasn’t released, was thrown from his bike—suffering a fractured vertebra in his neck and a broken toe.
Magistrates handed Holly six points on her license, a fine of £1,653 (around $2,100), plus additional costs totaling nearly $3,000.
Her lawyer, Aisling Byrnes, said the star showed “full remorse” and that the accident was a “momentary lapse in judgment.” Holly reportedly stayed at the scene, offering the victim her phone and water until emergency responders arrived.
Prosecutors confirmed she failed to indicate before turning, which led to the collision. The magistrate said the incident was caused by her failure to check mirrors or see the oncoming scooter.
The timing couldn’t be worse for Willoughby, once hailed as Britain’s ultimate TV golden girl. Since leaving This Morning, she’s struggled to find her footing—recently quitting You Bet! with Stephen Mulhern and seeing her Netflix adventure show Celebrity Bear Hunt axed. To make matters worse, Dancing On Ice, her long-running gig with ITV, was canceled earlier this year—leaving Holly without a steady hosting role for the first time in over two decades.
With her career wobbling and her image tarnished, fans are wondering—has Holly Willoughby finally lost her crown?
