Kimora Lee Simmons has officially entered her “Auntie Mom” era—and she’s not doing it halfway. The Baby Phat icon revealed that she’s now taken Diddy and the late Kim Porter’s 18-year-old twins, D’Lila and Jessie Combs, under her wing, stepping up as a maternal figure during what has been a turbulent time for the family.
During a heartfelt appearance on Today with Jenna & Friends, Kimora opened up about her ever-growing family. “I have my kids, and then I have kids on the side,” she said with a laugh. “One of my friends who passed away, Kim Porter, I have all of her kids. Even though some of them are adults, the twins are 18.”
She added, “Yeah, they’re with me. I just got off the phone with them. I’m a lot of people’s mom.”
Kimora, who already has five children of her own, described her home as a “village” built by women helping one another raise the next generation. “I have godmoms and aunties and friends,” she explained. “It’s really a village of women supporting women. We uplift each other.”
But behind the warmth lies a complicated history—and a dose of Hollywood drama.
Kimora’s renewed closeness with the Combs twins comes as Sean “Diddy” Combs remains behind bars following his September arrest on multiple federal charges, including racketeering, sex trafficking, and prostitution-related crimes. The shocking downfall of one of hip-hop’s most powerful moguls has left his family reeling, and Kimora—Kim Porter’s best friend for decades—has quietly stepped in to provide stability.

Porter, who passed away suddenly in 2018, shared four children with Diddy: Quincy, Christian, and the twins, D’Lila and Jessie. In the wake of their father’s legal chaos, Kimora has become a steady presence in their lives.
Earlier this year, she told TMZ, “I love them so much, and I have their back.” That devotion hasn’t wavered, despite her complicated past with Diddy. Sources close to Kimora say her priority has always been the kids—and ensuring they stay grounded amid the chaos swirling around their father.
While some fans are calling her a “bonus mom,” others see her as the ultimate protector and honorary auntie, carrying on Kim Porter’s spirit with grace and strength. Whatever title you choose, one thing’s clear: Kimora is holding it down for Kim Porter’s legacy—and standing tall as the girls’ rock during one of the darkest chapters in their lives.
