Chinese director Yi Zhou, who recently made waves by alleging that Hollywood star Jeremy Renner sent him explicit photos, now claims both parties have reached an agreement following his bombshell revelation.
According to TMZ on November, Yi Zhou, who was slated to direct the documentary Chronicles of Disney starring Jeremy Renner, had previously alleged that the actor sent her personal and intimate photos.
Yi Zhou told TMZ that they’ve come to a peaceful and mutually respectful resolution.
The outlet also reported that Yi Zhou plans to continue collaborating with Jeremy Renner on their joint projects, Stardust Future and Chronicles of Disney.
Yi Zhou credited Jeremy Renner’s attorney, Marty Singer, for playing a pivotal role in the negotiations. He told TMZ that he’s grateful to everyone who supported a positive outcome and a forward-looking, collaborative approach.
Yi Zhou added that this agreement allows all parties to focus on storytelling, creativity, and producing meaningful work that resonates with audiences worldwide.
However, Marty Singer swiftly issued a contradictory statement to TMZ, asserting that no agreement has been reached with Yi Zhou to resolve the substantial multi-million dollar claims made by his client, Jeremy Renner.
On November 15, Yi Zhou took to social media to reiterate his claims of an agreement. He expressed gratitude to attorney Singer, Creative Artist Agency (CAA), his team, agents, managers, legal team, and especially his advisor, Brian Sun. They’ve reached a peaceful resolution and will proceed with the release and FYC campaign for Chronicles of Disney and Stardust Future, featuring Jeremy Renner and other talented individuals.
He concluded by thanking everyone who embraced this peaceful resolution with optimism for the future.
Earlier this month, Yi Zhou alleged that Jeremy Renner had threatened to report him to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and sent intimate photos including pornographic material. He told the Daily Mail that she’s kept the photos and porn GIFs he sent.
Jeremy Renner, however, only acknowledged a brief consensual encounter between them, refuting all other allegations and hinting at a potential multi-million dollar lawsuit.
