Variety reports that Hollywood star Ariana Grande faced a disturbing encounter with an overzealous fan during the Singapore premiere of her upcoming film Wicked: For Good on November 13.

According to People magazine, Grande, who plays Glinda, was walking the Yellow Brick Road red carpet at Universal Studios Singapore alongside Michelle Yeoh, Cynthia Erivo, and Jeff Goldblum when a man in casual clothing suddenly approached and ambushed her, turning the star-studded event into an unsettling moment.

The assailant, wearing long black hair with blue highlights, wrapped his arms around Grande and pulled her close, leaving the actress visibly distressed as she tried to break free. Cynthia Erivo, who plays Elphaba, reacted immediately by stepping between them and shouting at the man, while security staff quickly intervened and escorted him away. Grande appeared shaken afterward, taking deep breaths as Erivo and Michelle Yeoh comforted her.

The individual was later identified as Johnson Wen, an online personality known as Pyjama Man. Wen brazenly posted footage of the encounter on his social media, thanking Grande for letting him jump onto the yellow carpet with her. Wen has a history of disrupting major events, including a stage invasion during a Katy Perry concert in June and an attempted interruption at a performance by The Weeknd in August.

The incident is especially troubling considering Grande’s struggles with PTSD linked to the 2017 Manchester Arena bombing, which claimed twenty-two lives. Wicked: For Good, set for release on November 19, follows the unlikely friendship between Elphaba, the misunderstood green-skinned witch, and Glinda, the beloved good witch, as they navigate intertwined destinies in the land of Oz.
