The animated blockbuster Super Mario Galaxy is slated for release on April 29, 2025. This cosmic adventure follows Mario, a former New York plumber who becomes the iconic Super Mario, and his brother Luigi as they take on their boldest mission yet. The duo blasts off into space, exploring dazzling galaxies, mysterious planets, and vibrant new worlds in a quest that pushes their teamwork and courage to new heights.
The film is a sequel to the 2023 global hit The Super Mario Bros. Movie. A collaboration between Nintendo and Illumination, the studio behind Minions and Despicable Me, the first installment earned more than 1.3 billion USD worldwide and topped box office charts in 68 countries. In South Korea, it drew 2.39 million viewers and set a new Children’s Day attendance record for animated films.
With Nintendo and Illumination partnering again, Super Mario Galaxy aims to take the beloved franchise to even greater cinematic heights with a grander and more dazzling spectacle. The returning cast includes Chris Pratt as Mario, Charlie Day as Luigi, Anya Taylor Joy as Peach, and Jack Black as Bowser, with Oscar winner Brie Larson joining as Rosalina.
