Lee Yi Kyung has announced a firm response to recent rumors concerning his private life.
On Monday, Lee Yi Kyung’s agency, Sangyoung ENT, released an official statement expressing “deep regret over the false information and defamation circulating online about Lee Yi Kyung.”
The agency added, “Through our legal representatives, we have submitted evidence to Seoul’s Gangnam Police Station and filed a formal complaint against the authors and distributors of these posts for spreading false information and defamation. There have been no attempts at settlement or compensation regarding this matter, and none will be entertained in the future.”
They continued, “We will continue to monitor and take legal action without leniency against any malicious posts that damage the reputation and dignity of our actor.”
The statement also emphasized, “We recognize the importance of protecting oneself from manipulated information and distorted facts in today’s digital era. We will do everything possible to prevent harm caused by baseless speculation and false content, and to safeguard our actor’s rights and reputation.”
The controversy began on October 20, when a blog post titled Exposing the Real Face of Lee Yi Kyung appeared on an online community. The post included screenshots of messages allegedly exchanged with Lee Yi Kyung, containing sexual content, which sparked widespread discussion.
In response, the agency quickly denied the claims as groundless and warned of decisive legal action. The post’s author later clarified the following day that the incident started as a joke and involved AI-generated images, temporarily ending the matter.
