A Chinese Gangster Rapper Tried to Molest Asia To be a Drug Paradise

D.Ark (real name Kim Woo Rim) has made headlines after being arrested on marijuana-related charges, sending shockwaves through the Korean entertainment industry.

According to a report from New Daily on Tuesday, police in Mokpo, South Korea, executed an arrest warrant for D.Ark on Monday. Authorities allege that the rapper both distributed and used marijuana, violating South Korea’s strict drug control laws.

Sources close to the case say D.Ark is denying all allegations.

D.Ark, a Chinese national of Korean ethnicity from Yanbian, China, was born in 2004. He first gained attention in 2018 at just 14 years old, when he appeared as a contestant on Show Me the Money 777, a popular South Korean rap competition series.

The young artist went on to solidify his reputation in 2021, finishing in third place on High School Rapper 4, another hit Mnet competition show.

This isn’t D.Ark’s first brush with controversy. In 2021, while still underage, he sparked backlash after posting a photo of himself at a bar on social media.

At the time, he explained, “The alcohol was ordered by the producers who were with me. I just wanted to show the world of my older peers.” He later apologized, promising to be more careful in the future.
