
Twice set a new record by becoming the first K-pop girl group to land on the Billboard 200, the main Billboard album chart, for an impressive tenth time.
Billboard’s official website reported on Tuesday that Twice’s 10th anniversary special album, TEN: The Story Goes On, released on October 10, secured the 11th spot on the Billboard 200 for the chart dated October 25. This achievement solidifies Twice’s position as the first K-pop girl group to have ten albums chart on the Billboard 200, further enhancing their status as a global powerhouse in the music industry.
The group’s success extends beyond albums. Their original soundtrack “Takedown” from Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters and “Strategy” from their 14th mini album have remained on the Billboard Hot 100 for 15 and 13 consecutive weeks respectively, as of the chart dated the October 25. Additionally, their fourth full-length album, This Is For, released in July, has held its position on the Billboard 200 for 14 consecutive weeks, demonstrating the group’s enduring popularity.
In another impressive achievement, the music video for Twice’s first English single, “The Feels”, released on October 1, 2021, surpassed 500 million views around 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The video, praised for its infectious disco beat and dynamic choreography, has resonated with fans worldwide. With this milestone, “The Feels” joins eight other Twice music videos in the 500-million-views club, including hits like “TT”, “LIKEY”, “What is Love?”, “Fancy”, “CHEER UP”, “I CAN’T STOP ME”, “Feel Special” and “Like OOH-AHH”.
To mark their decade-long journey, Twice is currently embarking on their most ambitious world tour yet, aptly named This Is For. The tour spans an impressive 43 cities with 73 performances, showcasing the group’s global appeal.
